The Center for Research and Evaluation of Advanced Technologies in Education at Northern Arizona University was closed in 2003 by Director Michael Kelly. CREATE evolved from the NSF-funded AT-SLICE project which produced the environmental science curriculum VR-Excursions and was awarded a grant from NSF for organizing the Digital Library in Earth Systems Education 2001 Annual Meeting. CREATE was also awarded a NSF grant for BIOSCAPES - an effort that produced the health science curriculum Virtual Clinical Excursions.
